These indie games made by Tiny Teams are going to be the next big thing
Tiny Teams and indie games go hand in hand. I can guarantee you’ve got at least one game in your Steam library that was made by either a solo dev or a small team. If you’ve played Balatro you’ve already got bingo, and obviously our beloved PlateUp!.
Here at Yogscast Games we bloody love working with small teams and solo devs to bring their games to the players. That’s why our very own Alex created Tiny Teams Festival—a yearly Steam festival to celebrate indie games made by, well, Tiny Teams!
This year was the 5th year of the festival filled with hidden gems that might just be the next big thing. Here are a few of our highlights that are soon to become the talk of the online town.
Outbound

After hitting ONE MILLION wishlists in October of this year, Outbound is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated indie games of 2026. It’s hardly a surprise when the gameplay looks so delightful—exploring a lush nature-filled open world while scavenging materials to pimp out your camper van! Plus the development team, Square Glade Games, recently announced the addition of a dog companion to the game. What more could you ask for?
Vampire Rancher

It’s not often an objective in a cosy game is to satisfy your need for blood, but Vampire Rancher is here to meet that demand. It’s your responsibility to return a town to its former glory, keeping your dinner-I mean visitors-happy. There’s crafting, ranching, farming, exploring, and maybe even a capybara in this weird wild west!
Check out The Yogscast’s very own Gee & Osie living their best Vampire Rancher lives here:

A cryptic CD-ROM, an eye that watches you in the walls, and a game that was never meant to see the light of day. All is not what it seems with this 1990’s style horror. Battle your way through creepy encounters in a digital dungeon using Solitaire. From the creators of Home Safety Hotline and Regency Solitaire, you’re in safe hands with some top quality gameplay guaranteed.
TANUKI: Pon's Summer

Have you always dreamed of being a BMX-ing raccoon dog? Then TANUKI: Pon’s Summer should be hopping right onto your wishlist. Deliver packages and earn cash to fix up the shrine in time for the Tanuki Festival and show off your gnarly BMX skills as you do. Build friendship with the townsfolk by joining them on their activities and unlock rewards to decorate the shrine. There’s a demo out now so I suggest transporting yourself from chilly autumn into this sunny summer delight of a game!
Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times

And of course we have to mention our upcoming semi-open world puzzle game Rhell: Warped Worlds & Troubled Times! You play as Rhell, a sassy witch with the power to collect runes and use them to make ENDLESS (well not really but the exact number is 102,400,000 which is pretty darn crazy) combinations of spells. You explore the mysteries of a world where most people have vanished with branching pathways and multiple endings. There’s a demo out now so go and see how many spell combos you can make—if you can imagine it, you can probably do it.
These are our most anticipated indie games of 2026! If any of these games take your fancy then go forth and wishlist them on Steam, it really helps indie devs. Plus, since all these games were in Tiny Teams 2025, you can find The Yogscast playing them and more in this handy playlist on YouTube.
